In my opinion, a sure fire way to tell whether or not you love a place is to go back a second time. If you go back and enjoy it just as much the second time as you did the first, it’s an incredible destination. Turks and Caicos passes this test. My mom and I went down to Turks a few weeks before I got married in 2014 to have a little R&R before things got hectic. I was amazed at the sheer beauty of the beaches. A few weeks ago, I went back with my husband and another couple that we’re close to, and we had a fabulous time. The beaches are among the most beautiful that I’ve ever seen, so it’s no surprise that they are ranked as the number 1 beach in the world according to TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice awards. For those that enjoy relaxation, fun in the sun, and fabulous views, Turks and Caicos is a great destination for either a couples’ trip or a girls only vacation.
Travel Well: Turks and Caicos
Stay: Thanks to my family’s timeshare, we have access to a condo at the Regent Grand. The Regent Grand is a beautiful boutique hotel located on Grace Bay Beach. With direct access to the world renowned beach, a private pool and hot tub, and attentive staff to make sure that your every wish is granted, the Regent Grand is a great choice for accommodations during a trip to Turks and Caicos. I love that the suites are condominium style and include a full kitchen and living room. I’ve also had the pleasure of visiting the Grace Bay Club and the Seven Stars Resort and Spa, which are both absolutely beautiful. I’ve heard amazing things about the Gansevoort as well.

Dine: There are no shortage of fabulous restaurants in Turks and Caicos. In my opinion, food can make or break a vacation, so I’m glad to report that I didn’t have a bad meal during my recent baecation. While the service was sometimes lackluster, the cuisine was amazing and I would return to each restaurant for another meal in a heartbeat.
Infiniti: Located at the Grace Bay club, Infiniti has a great ambiance. The restaurant’s 90 foot bar is the longest in the Caribbean.

Da Conch Shack and Rum Bar: We were supposed to go to Turks and Caicos’ infamous Fish Fry during our stay, but unfortunately, it was cancelled due to weather. We asked our concierge to recommend another option for great local cuisine and we were not disappointed!
CoCo Bistro: Coco Bistro is considered by many to be the best restaurant in Turks and Caicos. The food was absolutely delicious and the setting is gorgeous. We enjoyed dining under a canopy of palm trees.

Shop: Im surprised to say, I actually did not do any shopping at all in Turks and Caicos. I was so busy enjoying the beautiful beaches that I didn’t even think about checking out any shops or boutiques (which says a lot because I’m a huge shopper). I did notice that there are quite a few jewelry stores near the Regent Grand and I’ve heard that shoppers can get great deals on jewelry and watches in the area.
Play: The beaches are by far the main attraction in Turks and Caicos, and they deserve to be. We enjoyed lounging on the beach and swimming in the crystal clear waters. It was the perfect relaxing couples trip because we did a whole lot of nothing and had a blast doing it. For those looking to snorkel, Coral Gardens Reef is an amazing choice. It’s right off the beach allowing visitors to swim up on their own instead of taking a boat (which is great for when you have a guest in your party who gets sea sick like we did). Couples massages are also a must during any romantic getaway and we enjoyed 90-minute massages in the comforts of our home way form home by Spa Tropique. For those looking for a “night out on the town” (and I put that in quotes because it is VERY casual), Danny Buoys is a super fun spot. We watched the NBA Finals, laughed at people’s drunken attempts at karaoke, and did a little dancing at the local sports bar.
We had an amazing time in Turks and Caicos, and like Grand Cayman and Cabo, it’s one of those destinations that I know I’ll visit again and again. Our vacation was laid back and relaxing – the perfect start to the summer after a hectic season.
Have you been to Turks and Caicos? What were your thoughts? If not, what is the most beautiful beach you’ve ever been to?
